To ensure the long service life of our compressor pulley and so that you can enjoy it for a long time, it is important that the running clearance between the magnetic clutch and the pulley’s friction disc is correctly adjusted.
The running clearance should be measured with a feeler gauge between the magnetic clutch and the friction disc of the compressor pulley. Ideally, this value at the tightest point is 0.1–0.15 mm, but it can be set up to 0.2 mm and a maximum of 0.25 mm.
We place great importance on manufacturing the compressor pulleys with consistently tight tolerances. However, it cannot always be avoided that, after the pulley has been fully assembled, a tolerance of 0.15 mm occurs at the friction disc.
From a tuning perspective, a running clearance of 0.1–0.15 mm is preferable and is gentler on the bearings.
The running clearance can be adjusted using the shim washers supplied with the pulley.
